Default Waterproofing an 09

Ok, so when I owned a 2000 TJ, someone on one of the Jeep forums did a great write up on how to waterproof the TJ. It included everything from how to extend the breather tubes on the axles and transfer case to waterproofing the electronics under the hood. My question is how do you do this for the JK? Is there a need to do this? Or has Chrysler moved forward enough that this isn't important to worry about? I am already considering a snorkel? What about the computer module? Anyone got any thoughts, ideas, or has done this already? Pics?
Thanks in advance to any and all who post!!!

There are quite a few threads on here about extending the breathers. Search for those threads so you can see actual pictures of where to find the loose end of the breathers. Some people extend into the air box, others don't because it's not uncommon to have the differentials dump some fluid (particularly when some dealership or shop puts in too much fluid).

I don't recall seeing any threads about waterproofing the computer. I suppose it can be done, but it seems to me like if you are going that deep for that long you are just begging for problems.

Generally speaking, getting a snorkel and extending your breathers should set you up pretty well.

An additional consideration if you are routinely going deep could be your fan. Search a little bit and you should find some write-ups addressing that as well.

A good waterprotecting step is to take die electric grease, unhook various wire terminal connectors, and put it on the wire ends where they connect... PCM, throttle body, CKPS, etc.. I did any that are low and might see water. The die electric grease looks almost like vasoline, and keeps water out. It is made for this and increases connectivity in the plug.
Also look for the breather threads. There's quite a few!
