It looks like a new install without the steering stabilizer on yet. Nice new shiny stuff except the Jeep itself.

Three things i know that can affect the steering wheel center are-

Track bar mounting holes are elongated and the axle can shift left or right.

Bending the tie rod.

I've seen a couple cases on the forums where a drop pitman arm was loose (not sure what you have).

Do you not use one or was it not on yet?
My stab is connected to the tie rod. It's behind it so hard to see in pick.

Thanks to all, extremely helpful. Guess I was wrong with the steer box theory, and happy about that. So the fix will be JKS steer components all the way around! That actually even sounds cheaper than the steer box anyways.

References to gear slipping issues was mostly local performance shops out here in Guam. I compared that with clunking/broken box threads in this forum and made conclusions. As previously stated though, it looks like I was wrong. Thanks again for everyone's experience!

I just went wheeling at MOAB and after one of the spotters on the trail let me drop hard into a hole, my steering wheel is off center. It tracks straight on highway and no ESP light yet, but I have to take in in for an alignment to see what happened.

Aren't the pitman arms keyed?

Start with a wrench and two minutes of your time before you pay for an alignment.

There is a DIY alignment writeup down in the writeups area if you aren't familiar with how to do it.

Most of what I based it off of is word from local Guam performance shops. Along with the clunking box thread in this forum, I came to conclusions. Apparently though I was wrong. Thanks to all the veterans out there for the education.

Yeah that factory tie rod is amazingly bad. People have bent that with torque, not just rocks, and we know how much torque the 3.8's have never mind the 3.6!
