Ok- So I ordered the rugged ridge half doors and uppers. Had the doors painted to match, and had an original soft top to run in the summer. Wife wants the "protection" offered by the doors here in PA- as yes it is illegal to drive w/o doors in PA (I have the letter from the gray gods). With all that being said- I got a new premium soft top form a member on here, and it was a great transaction. My problem now is after sinking probably $3-4000 on the doors, paint mirrors, hinges, etc., the soft uppers do not match the premium top, as the uppers are in black diamond.

So I reached out to Rugged Ridge- and got nothing in response- other than spray paint them.

There in lies my question....Does anyone know a paint color for the uppers that will match the premium top, and hold up? Anyone have any other suggestions? Or know a canvas / upholstery shop that would have ideas that they trust? It drives me insane that they don't match.

As I'm sure you can see, the difference is more than just the color- there's a textural difference as well. Rugged Ridge probably didn't have much to say because this hasn't manifested itself frequently enough yet.

 

Yea- No doubt. But at least if they matched closer, I'd be easier to accept. They really look bad, and I love the top.

 

I am having the same issue. I want the Bestop Trek top NX in black twill but Bestop only offers their soft doors in black diamond. You would think with all the premium soft tops out there that someone would make 1/2 or soft doors in the matching fabric. Anyone know of a source for black twill doors?

 

I run Bestop 2 piece soft doors. This is the reason I got the super top in sailcloth and not the twill.

 

Just wondering is it illegal to run tube doors in PA? Man I'm glad I don't live in that state.
