Question Weird Programming Glitch

I just tried to use ACCU PRO to reset my odometer. Everything seemed fine. I entered the tire size as measured (33 inches for 35x12.50s at 30 psi and about 25K wear). I set the gears to 5.13. I followed the prompts and the got the message "Programing successfully completed." Waited a bit to be sure, then unplugged the ACCU PRO. Stated the engine and the sway bar light began flashing, and the check engine light came on. Shut the engine off and restarted it. Same thing happened.

So I started again with the ACCU PRO, read and then cleared the codes, reset the tire size to 31 (what it showed before I did the programming) and the gears to 4.10. Followed the prompts, and got the message "Programing successfully completed." Waited a bit to be sure, then unplugged the ACCU PRO. Started the engine, the sway bar light did not blink but was dark, the check engine light flashed a few times and went dark.

Took it for a drive and everything seemed normal. But it really felt like it shifted better (auto). Probably just my imagination. Well, when I get the time during the day, I'll call ACCU PRO and see what they think.

This is not my first "weird" event, so I'm not casting any blame on ACCU PRO. I've had the rear locker replaced. The entire sway bar mechanism was replaced just last month.

Any ideas, guys?

Did you check online to see if there were any firmware updates for it? I have heard it is good to check for updates before using it. Maybe that was just the performance programmer though.

I would call them too.

Mine was wierd also. If I set the tires to 34.25 and 4.10 gears I get 3 DTC codes p0017, p0018 and p00d4 with the transmision light on. At this setting the speedo is accurate to the gps when it works. I had to turn on and off 3 times to get it to register the speedo.

If I set it to 34.50 and 4.10 no issues except the speedo is off by 2 mph. I haven't called but the box says accupro by hpyertech so hopefully they can chime in on this.

Oh ya I did download the latest software.

Duneslider,

Yes, I did the firmware update earlier in the day.

NE wrangling,

Sorry you're having the same trouble I am. Programming caused these codes: P0012, P00D4 and P0017.

Exclamation

Just got off the phone with Hypertech. The technician was aware of the problem. He said to unplugged and replug the ABS module to cause it to reset. He said they were working on a way to get the ACCU PRO unit to do the the reset automatically. But for now he said to go ahead, reprogram the Jeep, expect the same codes to occur, and then unplug and replug the ABS module.

Now all I need to do is find the ABS module (it's somewhere under the hood on the passenger side I am told.)

Hypertech support was great and I say "thank you!"

...but they didn't tell you where the ABS module was. There's one older sounding guy at Hypertech that is always really helpful...the rest of the tech's have given me blow off answers like the one you got.

As far as unplugging "modules", try disconnecting the negative lead on the battery for about 10 minutes, and then reprogramming. That fixed the weird issues I got last time I programmed. The first time I called Hypertech, they told me I needed to unplug my TIPM...w/o disconnecting the battery--"this is a very bad idea" said the Jeep service manager when I asked him.

So try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes or so to allow the TIPM to reset. Hope this helps so you don't have to hunt down the elusive modules Hypertech told you to unplug. gl
