Default Weird Squeaking??????

I have a 4" Superlift and 35" tires. Now everytime i start to drive in 1st gear I hear a little squeaking sound coming from the front axle. It is very loud when i turn the wheel and start off in first.

I should say its kind of a squeak mixed with a clunk. Is this my u-joints going bad???

Not familiar with that lift, but check for clearance on EVERYTHING. Could be as simple as something rubbing. In first you probably hear it simply because you are going slower?? Get a buddy to jump up and down on the bumper and make it flex while you're looking underneathe and listening. Make sure all the new joints have some grease on them...or try spraying them with some silicon based grease and see if it lessens.

With mine, I didn't have any loud sounds, but it did seem to quiet down slightly after the grease worked it's way in and I drove around for a short break in period.

U-joint or wheel bearing. lift up the tire and wiggle it side to side and if it moves the wheel bearing is bad or you have a loose wheel. RubyDoo's wheel bearing went bad.

Could be a mouse lifting weights in your engine compartment.

Did you replace your drive shaft? When I replaced mine I removed the dust ring from my stock pinion flange and mounted it with the replacement JE Reel flange, and because the Reel units are machined such that they do not require the dust ring, the thing gave a bit of a squeek until I removed it later.

This is what I'm afraid of. I guess I will just have to take it in to ease my mind.

I am running the same setup... I had this same problem and fixed it yesterday. Retorque your front trac bar and grease the hell out of hit... you should find eithe the top or bottom trac bar mount is a lil loose.

A lil creaking is normal in these lifted jeeps but i know exactly what your going through...

PM me if you have any questions!
