Default Welders Help

Im getting ready to weld up my EVO control arm skids today but im using a stick welder and I was told I need a nickle rod.....can some one give me a fast answer on what rod to use to stick weld these things on today?

a 1/8 7018 rod would work fine.

A 7018 will most likely be fine. It really comes down to what the composition is of the steel that the EVO skid plates are and the steel they are being welded too.

I would shoot the company an email to see what they recommend.

They are mild steel use 7018 or 6011.
But I have to add if you are asking this question you not a welder and you will be welding "out of position".
7018 gives the meaning to the words "stick welding" and you need to remove all paint before you start. The 6011 splatters and looks like crap but welds easier but can/will burn through the paint.

Be patience and watch your puddle.

Ill add dont be afraid to to hold the welding rod either. Holding the welding rod halfway between the handle and tip will help with controling the rod.
