Just curious if anyone does this.... If your axle's factory finish has fadded off and you have that light rust, what is a good method to paint them to match the factory color?

thanks

I picked up some Rustoleum Flat Black spray paint cans from Advanced Auto. It works well and lasts. I've had it on there for about 2-3 months with a few offroad trips and power washes and no peeling or flaking, etc.

POR-15 is some rugged stuff. I used it on my '02 Dakota's axle, and around the fender openings.
It was still intact in '08 when I traded it for the JK.

I used it on some hitch hardware. After a day, I couldn't chip it off, even by using another piece of steel.

Good stuff.
It's available in an auto paint store, here in Bangor. So, it's not just an on-line item.
