Guys -- if I want a good 4" lift, set of wheels, and 37" tires, and my budget is $4K, what should I get?

well you could get a rough country 4inch lift for $500 with out control arms or you can get the rough country 4inch lift for $1100 with control arms. i would also get a steering stabilizer to just my opinion you dont need it but it is a nice thing to have for i think about $100 to $200 you can get a pair of gears for about $700 from rough country. im sure if you got all this threw RC they would cut you a bit of a deal and they have great customer service. as for tires and rims..... if you got all above with the control arms your at $2000 so finding if your really set on 37" you have about 2000 to get tires and rims. i know my addict XD rims are about 150 a piece so thats $750 right there. i dont know what kind of tires your looking for but im sure you could get something for 1250 with some reaserch i would strongly recomend getting 35" until you get a bit more funding but it can be done. im not completely sure if that lift will fit 37" but im sure chopping some fenders might make it work its do able good luck.

Thanks for the feedback -- I was thinking of going with a 4" TF basic lift and adding the front control arms (ORW was awesome and told me I could get this for right at $1450 or so. If I don't re-gear immediately, I could do the steering stabilizer and up my budget to $4500 to capture a good set of wheels and tires....thoughts?

Sorry to put a damper on it but it is better to know all the costs up front instead of finding out all the other stuff you need after buying a cheap lift kit.
thank you for adding there. i have a 4inch and 35 and am waiting to re gear for funding i think 37" is really pushing a bit on the dana 30 axel if thats what you have.

No damper, I'm learning as I go....I'm not trying to be cheap, but help clarify something for me cause I've seen a thousand opinions...when lifting it, do the new driveshafts, re-gearing, and everything have to be done immediately? Is there any grace period without taking a major toll on the vehicle? And what exactly does the draglink flip kit do? Thanks again for helping out a newbie.

I thought you could get away with a 4" lift without replacing the driveshafts for a while?

Take a step back and do some more research.

Those TF 4" coils will put your 4door up around 5" and you really don't need that much lift to run 37's. 2.5-3" with flats is plenty. To do a 4+" 'right', you will be adding more components, and the price climbs.

There are some q&a's in the FAQ's with recommended components for various lift heights. Compare them to the kits you are looking at. And pay attention to the notes about the driveshafts. You have an auto, so plan on losing the front. And with 5 inches, plan on losing the rear. When they go, you will need a set of adjustable arms for each.
