Default What could be the problem???

Hey!!

Specs: 2010 jeep wrangler sahara
Miles: 15,000
Transmission: Automatic
Suspension: 2.5 inch teraflex lift with coils and shocks
Tires: 295/70/R17 on XD addicts 17x9
Drive shafts: Stock
Everything else: Stock

So it has been about a week after the install of my 2.5 inch teraflex lift with 33 inch tires. now i have a loud pop coming from the front end of the jeep when i am taking off it doesnt happen all the time but when it does its loud and i can feel it in my feet. It doesnt to it when I am at a role only after I have come to a complete stop then take off again Tonight i am going to check all of the bolts again for the lift and see if anything is loose also i crawled under the jeep and twisted the drive shaft and there was some play in it is this normal?? let me know if anybody has experienced this before with there jeep I know eventually after a lift kit you have to replace driveshafts but after a week thats Nuts!!

Thanks
Jake

A little play in the ds is normal. Chances are you forgot to tighten something. Check everything again.

Yeah, something about the rubber boot on the front shaft will hit the side of trans when flexing. There's not any articulation stopping and starting so it not that.

Default Figured it out during my lunch Break...

Hey Everybody,

So during my lunch break at work I went out and tried to figure out the problem with the jeep...I loved it people were walking past me in the suits and ties while i am crawled under my jeep i would say hi to them and they would jump about a foot in the air because they didnt see me.

Well figured out that it is the Ti-rod that is making the noise so when i hit the brakes it actually flips forward and then when i take off it flips back and makes a really loud tinging noise easily mistaken for a issue with the driveshaft so i am going to try to tighten the bolts down tonight and see if that resolves the issue.

Sounds to me like your front control arm bolts are loose!

Could be your shocks or swaybars. I've seen a few people with the same problem when they forget to put both of the top bushings on the front shocks. Usually its the upper one that gets them.

Was the suspension torqued on a lift? Check all suspension compnents, loosen and re-torque.

first test drive with mine had the same noise, tuned out I hadn't got one of the shocks tightened enough on the axle end.
