Default what to do?

Alright so i have a 2.5in teraflex lift on my jeep now with the teraflex shocks. I am not happy with it, i have been running this set up for almost a year now and the shocks are squeaking like crazy and im not sure what to do. So my question is, should i just change out the shocks for better ones or put in a new lift kit all together?

Ive really had my eye on the AEV 3.5in Nth degree kit with the steering kit, would i notice a big difference in quality with aev over my teraflex? The aev kit is more than 2x what i paid for the teraflex.

Any help would be awesome, thanks

really, your shocks are squeaking? at the bushing or at the shaft? if it's at the bushing, you need to tighten up the mounting bolts to torque spec and if it's at the shaft, you should contact teraflex and see if you can get them replaced. i know lots of people running teraflex shocks and squeaking is not an issue i am aware of.

of course, if you're okay with the ride but still hate the shocks, i would recommend that you just change them out for something you do like. the aev kit will offer a nice ride and you'll most likely be very happy with it but, like you said, it's costs a lot more money and all you get are a bunch of relocation brackets. if you're really thinking about spending more money on your jeep, i would advise working with what you got and improving on it as opposed to replacing it.

One of my good friends has the same lift as you are running, and his squeaks like crazy! After installing my RK lift he vowed to get the same lift as me! When it comes to lift kits cheap is not the way to go. It is the foundation of your vehicle! I personally have had two lifts in my jeep career a RC on my 06 LJ which I sold 6 months after the lift because I was not happy after I lifted it! Now with my 07 I went Rock Krawler and I love the way it rides now! It's better than stock! This is my life experience I learned what not to do by mistakes.

I would agree with Wayolife, it is easier and less costly to replace the shocks than start all over, unless you want to go higher and add other components. I am running a 2.5 Teraflex, but kept my Rubicon shocks, and I have no issues what so ever. It rides great, is not noisy, and make the JK look good. I had a R/C on a 2009 "X" and it worked well too. Hope you get this resolved

Squeaky Tera shocks????? Mine didn't squeak even after I got in a wreck, shifted the rear axle about 4in over and bent the shocks. Actually still rode pretty good with 2 bent axles, 2 bent shocks, bent trackbar, and stock trackbar axle mount ripped with half the TF reinforcement bracket still holding it on. Had to drive it to the shop, no squeaks though.

Is it possible for you to video the shocks as someone is pushing the bumper up and down? I've might of heard of one set squeaking before so I'm very curious about yours.

Also have you ever greased your swaybar bushings? These are known to be a squeaky culprit.
