That's what I'm running. 2.5" budget boost and 4 35" KM2's on 15x8 MB TKO wheels, purejeep truss and gussets. All for less than $2000 Added a 4:1 transfer case for $450 is well

Budget is everything. 2.5" lift and 35's can cost anywhere between $2000 and $10,000. So let's start with whats your budget and wheeling plans

I want to keep the cost as low as possible and just mountain trails with a little crawling

See my sig below. About as budget as it gets, but still a very capable Jeep that keeps up with or usually leads around the fancy rubicons and more built rigs . Keep in mind tho, once you get the 35's on, things like ball joints and other wearable components may require some upgrading down the road. Not as easy as slapping on a lift and tires and being done. If you wheel it, i'd highly recommend a truss and gussets for your front D30. Mine were $130 shipped from Marcus at RiverCity Offroad

Also, do you have an auto or manual transmission. You can make do with 3.21's ( I drive 60+ miles a day with it), but it wont be ideal. Manual will be better than if you have an auto. Don't expect to use 6th gear, but the highway rpms in 5th gear are just about perfect. Keep it under 65 mph and I get 17-18.5 mpg. 70-80 mph and its 13-14 mpg.

Do some research on your own and ask questions based off it. Don't just go with what you hear you should do on this thread . Learn about the lifts, components ect BEFORE hand, not during.

That's what my Jeep looked like before I started. Once you get started it gets addictive and you cannot stop.

My biggest advice is not to rush. Make sure you are buying what is going to make you happy in the future. That was a tough part for me. If you compromise on what you want so that you can have it now, you will be displeased latter. It took me more than a year to build my Jeep up. But it is what I want and then some.

Even though you are doing only some crawling. It is when that some crawling comes along that you will be happy you set your Jeep up. It only takes one road block to ruin your trip.

When you are looking a 3+ inch lift you want to consider changing your drive shafts as well. I am not sure if it really needed, but I swapped mine out and I am now confident that I am not going to get stuck on a trail with a broken drive shaft.

The cheapest tire I have found on the market is the Mud Claw. That is what I put on mine. They seem to do just fine and are not as loud as I thought they would be on the freeway. They seem to do great in the winter as well. I get through the snow fine. I am thinking my next tire will be the Pro Comp Extreme AT.

Bottom line, you will have to do a lot of reading of posts and asking specific questions about the items you are considering. Then you have to think about your application and how you plan to continue to use your Jeep. Then it is a leap a faith hoping the opinion of others end up reflecting your thoughts.

I run tread wright guard dogs. Those jokers Hum. This is a retread but they have good reviews. And you can't beat the price. I'd say they perform well in mud and trails from the testing I have done.
