Default What to do with rubbing control arms?

Ok - SO, we are rebuilding our 2 door JK Business Jeep from the ground up and need some opinions. It started out as my DD with a Rock Krawler Stock Mod lift and 35s back when we only wheeled our TJ, but it has a lot of growing up to do over the next month or so.

Here is the issue. Step one was mostly swapping out cosmetic parts and some RK arms to help with Caster. After adding RK LCA's, I now rub really bad on both of them - so much so that after only a week of driving, most of the paint has worn off and they are rusting. What would you do:

1) New wheels with better offset (Currently we have 4.75 and I need 4.5 minimum). A lot of money for .25"
2) Wheel spacers (Would make my offset go from 4.75 to 3.5). Anyone have any pics of a 2 door with 3.5"?
3) Throw some washers on the steering stops - will limit my turning radius
4) Take off the arms and go back to stock for now
5) Its just money - Keep the arms, do new wheels, go up to 37s, build out the axles, swap out the gears, and call it a day

If you plan on sticking with 5x5 pattern on stock/aftermarket d30/d44 axles, throw on some 1.50" wheel adapters and call it a day...

If a couple washers in the steering stop don't work, I'd replace the wheels with something more appropriate, and would be more suitable for a step up to a 37 and/or wider tire in the future. I wish I would have picked something different than my 4.5" backspaced wheels to begin with....now they're all scrapped up and about worthless to sell.

Yeah, luckily my wheels now only have a little bit of rock rash, but not to the point where somebody else could not enjoy them. BTW - I think I saw your rig out at the PBR at Hidden Falls? If its the same one I am thinking of, nice!

Nah, I didn't make it down there for that one. What part of DFW are you in? I'm typically rolling around on the west side of Fort Worth....between downtown and Weatherford.

I am all over DFW but mostly Flower Mound and West over to Benbrook. I stay away from Dallas as much as possible...

3.5" bs with 37*13.5- it moves the rub to the frame. I'm at 2.5" here, I've got a friend with the 3.5" x factor and he also rubs the LCA yet mine didn't.

Do you have any pics of the arms installed? After market arms of any brand will increase wheel/tire clearance, not decrease. Are you sure you installed them correctly? Not trying to be an ass, but If nothing else was changed, then something has to be wrong, either installed upside down, or backwards or something. With 4.75 back spacing and 35s the only rubbing you should have, if any, would be on the actual frame, and only at full stuff with the wheels turned to full lock.

Happy Jeeping.

Lol - I am not offended at all by your comment because the first thing I considered was that I was an idiot and installed them wrong. I am not following your comment about arms increasing clearance, though. RK lower control arms have an upward bend to increase clearance from rocks but not an inward bend like the stock control arms.

Right on. I thought they had an inward bend as well.

That's strange.

Is it just on the driver side, or on the passenger side as well?
