Hey all, I'm kinda facing a dilemma here. I have saved up enough money to get my jeep regeared, good right? Well here's the thing, if I do that, that's all I I'll get...but I could really use a winch, sliders, and a cb, or some skids...all of which I could afford if I don't get regeared. Which should I go with? Opinions? I'm running 35s with a looot of weight from bumpers on all stock drivetrain besides my woods shaft. idk which gearing I have. It's an 07 X but I heard they had a couple differences that year?

For me, I would have a hard time justifying the cost of regearing an X model. You should be able to find a used set of regeared Dana 44s that guys pull out to swap in Dana 60s. Also you can save a bunch if you buy a used winch, slider, skids. They are on here for sale all of the time. Good luck.

Well heres my 2C's...I have an 07X as well, running 35's on 3.21's. I have added a winch, sliders, handful of other things that would have added up to gears a few times over. Although I know 5.13's or whatever would make a huge difference, I havent done it yet for the sole reason that taller gearing is prob gonna make you more likely to snap a shaft, or strip a gearset with the D30 in front.

I always keep mine in 4low on the trails, and I guess its not bad around town, as you already know. Plus body armor and a winch will prob get you a little further off road. Also having a winch is just flat out badass anyhow.

Anyway, I'd consider holding off on gearing until you re-do the front axle, but its your call. I'm running mine as is until theres a trail I cant run that I want to, or I break something.

Well I think Scotty just answered my question. Apparently I am one of the lucky 07 guys with beefier gears. Sooooo looks like I'm about to go spend a few hours price juggling with some new goodies! thanks guys! You have made me a happy and broke man once again. :P
