Default What do you think of these modifications?

Hi,

Took delivery of my Rubicon Unlimited on 4/4/08. Have been using this board extensively for deciding on how to modify it. This is what I have come up with so far (and opinions are greatly appreciated). As for how it will be used: m-f driven by wife, sat-sun off-road.

R/E 4.5" long-arm kit
R/E monotube shocks
R/E front/rear replacement drive shafts
ARB deluxe front/rear bumpers
Warner 71800 powerplant winch
superior 5.13 gears front/back
procomp 8128 17 x 8.5 4.75" bs wheels
BFG 38371 35" mud terr tires
Hella rally 1000 black lights

Thanks

Personally, I think you'll find that 4.5" of lift to be a bit too high for just 35" tires and honestly, a long arm kit really isn't necessary for them either. If you are looking for opinions, save your money and get a 3"-3.5" short arm kit and I guarantee that you WILL be very happy with it. I had been running a Full Traction 3" Ultimate Lift with 35's for about a year and can honestly say that it is the perfect setup and one that handled great on and off the pavement and big enough to take me over just about anything I came across and without feeling unstable. Otherwise, everything else sound like a good setup.

X2, too much lift for 35's. The R/E 4.5" is an awesome lift, but maybe more than you need.

I completely agree with WOL. All you really need for a weekend warrior rig is some sort of 3" kit, the Full Traction Economy 3" kit is nice on a budget, even better if you get the FT adjustable front track bar and upgraded shocks. That will fit perfectly with your 35's.

This tire size thing always gets to people, if they go less than 37, they think they willbe the "baby". Ive gone big before and then regretted it. I have 35's now and love em on a 3 inch lift. If this is your wife dd m-f, go to a toyo open country. The humm of those bfg mudds will kill her. Just my 2 cents
