I'm curious what the process is to make a jeep into a monster. What's to best way to do a lift and put some oversized tires on one? Also what does doing this cost?

Answer your questions , a lot of work and money . Money and money

But really that is the most vague question you can ask and the sad part ( maybe not you ) but most who ask either don't have the time or the money in reality to do it right or there eyes are bigger then their wallets and cheap way out in the end

...don't follow this build and by comparison anything is "mean".

Other than using the word "mean", really figure out what your goals are with the jeep and then lift/ires/armor/etc. decisions can be made accordingly.

Hit it with a rolled up newspaper and leave it chained up outside.

I can tell you what DOESNT: "Mean eyes" for your headlights, Zombie stickers, Rock stars for wheels Crap like that. To me a mean jeep is one that's taken off-road, has a decent lift, tires, and war wounds from off-roading. Even better if you have some fab skills. That always makes a killer Jeep.
