yea yea use the search function blah blah blah. I have been looking this over for ages and finally just decided to ask you guys straight up. I know very little about anything automotive, but I am slowly learning since getting the JK and working on her myself. My big question is what else do I need: I have an '09 2door sahara Auto with a D30 front and D44 rear with 3.73 gears. I just bought some bushwacker flat flares and a teraflex 2.5 lift with springs. I want to run 37's...so are upgraded gears needed? Is there anything else I should be buying to go along with my lift? Anything else you can think of that I need at the moment. Its my DD so it needs to be mint. My build list is in my signature. Thanks for all you help! I bow down before your Superior Knowledge

5.13 gears
C-gussets/sleeves/truss( or prorock 44 for the front)
re-inforced axle trackbar mounts frt and rear
chromo or rcv axles( or a buncha spare stockers)
tuner- procal-superchip/ take your pick for speedo correction and or other functions.
1in bodylift, sawzall for trimming.

I would definetly regear with 37s... and I would go with at least 3 inchs of lift minnimum, I think 2.5 is too small for 37s!!! Alot of modifications will be needed!
Good luck with your build and CHEERS!

I've also heard that Autos and/or 2-doors need to be mindful of their drive shafts... not entirely sure, I have neither.

ok ok so 37's are out. Too much work lol. Guess I will stick with the 35's. So gears are still needed. Anything else?

good idea, i kinda regret going to 37's. besides the cool factor you dont gain much. and its A LOT of work. you will be good with 35's. You should still do axle sleeves and C-gussets, and with the sahara gears you'll probably want to regear for the 35's. Your jeep will be all grown up by the time I get back to meet ya in sept!

With 35's and 3.73's, your OD will be useless, you'll get used to turning it off when you get in.
A superchip may help alittle, you'll still need it or a procal for speedo correction.
C-gussets at the minimum should still be added. The axle C's on d-30 and 44 on jk's is a known weak point as are the axle trackbar mounts, they need re-inforcing aswell. People should do this even if running 32's imo.
Budget for future driveshafts , you'll end up needing them sooner than later even with the 2.5 lift if you off-road regularly.
Also know that if your unhappy with the handling, you may wanna add adj front lower control arms for castor adjustment. And if you change the rear ds (it usually goes first on a 2dr lifted), you'll need adj rear uppers to fix your pinion angle. The front may last longer, just make sure to take precautions(trim and drop skid, remove band clamp and replace with ziptie) You'll eventually wanna replace it though.
