Default what ends to trust on my winch

I know there all strong but....what ends do you guys think hold up the best...its going on synthetic winch line...I like the look of the safety thimble but is it as useful as a hook...just trying to see what majority vote is...closed loop hook...shackle loop hook...safety thimble...regular thimble...whatever else may be out there???

I have the pro link 55 thimble and I love the look. It doesn't clang around I have a few d rings and a few straps so I've been able to do everything. Just my 2 cents.

A thimble, like factor 55, is a more positive connection since it needs a D ring, BUT adds more hardware... More potential points of failure.

The risk with a hook is that during regular winching the pressure on the line is loaded then unloaded. The hook is at risk of coming completely off the attachment point, or suddenly loading the gate, which is usually only rated for a few points as opposed to thousands.

It's really solid. Pretty much the same function as the stock hook but allot beefier and better looking imo lol. Plus I can always take the hook out and put a dring if I wanted to but no need as the hook is rated the same as a dring. I also have a nice beefy (I call it the tailgate stopper) hook on the back
