What exhaust are you running?

I have a Dynomax exhaust on my 08' JKU and I hate it!!! It makes the most annoying droning sound that drives me nuts. I had a Flowmaster on my TJ and liked it, but was just wondering what everyone else was running?

LidLess07X 08-31-2014 05:40 PM

Stock ! Sounds great !

Mountain Man Tim 08-31-2014 06:34 PM

Stock on my 14 rubicon, it is not the most aggressive sounding set of pipes, but you do not really here it at all, so no one can complain about it being quiet for anything other than it is a very quiet system. I would like louder but only if it was a nice aggressive loud system, droning would be super annoying.

Surf City Dan 08-31-2014 07:14 PM

MBRP Exhaust with Gibson Headers. I like the sound and it is quiet at cruising speeds.

justiceboy 08-31-2014 07:22 PM

just put banks monster exhaust and banks intake on and love it. have gotten several compliments on the sound, not a rice burner and not a v8. gets throaty if i get in to it

KCCO JK 09-01-2014 01:30 AM

Stock exhaust for the win. I've still got a few more mods before I start looking to change that thing out!

Jake7978 09-01-2014 03:28 AM

I have the flowmaster axel back mild tone. Its perfect just enough noise to know its there but not annoying. I've have multiple compliments on it having a nice sound

Brett at JeepSWAG/Dominion Offroad tested the various muffler options out there before producing his own kit. He was unhappy with all, mostly because too loud. So he designed his own. It isn't cheap and you have to relocate your evaporative canister, but it sounds great and is 100% stainless--every bracket, bolt, nut, weld. You can hear it on this video ...

Im running the afe 3" high tuck on a 2010. I like it. Sounds good for a 6 banger. Ive never had a 6er before. Always v8 so its new to me. But i put the ripp headers on with it and it was pretty annoying around 3100. Sounded like a valve in the exhaust opened up and went rice. So had a new bullet muffler from slp for my old camaro ss and had to put it on. So now sounds like it did with the afe and stock manifolds.

2.5" AFE high tuck no drone it's pretty much silent at crushing speed. It growls at WOT. I really like it very high quality.

Trev88 09-01-2014 07:19 AM

Stock minus the muffler can. The wife and I like it and I get compliments on it too.

hair2831 09-01-2014 08:41 AM

Gibson axle back here. Nice sound and no drone. Plus it looks pretty cool too.

AFE 3" Cat Back Exhaust....it sounds great and is great for rock crawling its a high tuck system!

Hooker Aero Chamber, mentioned by someone else on this forum. Ran a Dynomax Evo Comp and a Super Turbo prior, all sound similar with the pre-axle dump with crazy resonance. Probably going to try a Dynomax Race Bullet next and dump the exhaust out the rear. I'd stick with the Aero Chamber, but I'm on my second one and already it's rattling again.

2k12jk 09-02-2014 04:08 PM

MagnaFlow SS rockcrawler cat-back, bumper tail pipe dump version, completely tucked up, and deletes the ugly stocker.

Dominion Off Road.

I had the MBRP, but like the way the Dominion sounds, way better.

Afe 2.5" scorpion hi tuck exhaust. Its a little raspy when it first starts up and you get into the higher rpms. But after the jeeps been running for a few minutes its a nice growl. No rasp after its been warmed up.

ccccPUNISHER 09-05-2014 04:07 PM

Im running a db Corsa dual exhaust on my 2010 JK Sahara Unlimited have had it on my jeep for the last few years and have loved it...sounds amazing...an have received nothing but compliments on it.

Wrangeler X 09-05-2014 05:14 PM

Afe. 3.8 auto 5:13 is a little front on the highway. Nice sound overall.

groth797 09-06-2014 07:52 AM

I'm about to pull the trigger on the aFe Mach Force hi tuck 2.5" for my 2014 unlimited Sahara. Only question is it says it will fit the 3.6L engines so 2012 and up but when I go to afe's site it says 2012-14 but when I put my jeeps info in like the year and model it only shows the scorpion edition. Also on amazon it says 2012-14 but says it won't fit. my Jeep is completely stock for now, but I just want to get an answer so I can purchase it and put it on the Jeep!

Bug Stomper 09-06-2014 03:54 PM

Dynomax Ultra-Flo Stainless Universal in the exact same configuration as their Dynomax Rock Crawler exhaust. $80 vs $350.

You drop the stock rear muffler. Cutout approx a foot and a half section of your existing pipe, bolt in the Dynomax muffler. Exhaust tip exits above the rear axle. No more smashed exhaust tips crushed on rocks. Nice and throaty. Not obnoxious nor anything like those grape fruit shooters found on Street Rice.

Jeepster197 09-09-2014 05:26 PM

MBRP on jk and previous tj.

RockinRobin 09-09-2014 06:23 PM

Looks like I might b the only one running the Magnaflow Black series. I have always had good luck with Magnaflow on my trucks

Custom Dual Exhaust

Had this idea in mind and haven't seen another like in anywhere. If someone else has it, sweet, if not, feel free to use the idea!!

I wanted my exhaust to go in-line with my XRC rear bumper, and I wanted to exhaust to be tucked up high so no one would give me crap about it!:what?:

Ok, so here is the pic, I can add more if requested, however, let me know what you guys think!!

I installed a MBRP, love it. No drone, plus it sounds great on a manual tranny.

I have a 2012 2dr and running the magnaflow black series dual exhaust. Love it.... Just the sound I was looking for.

Eris 12-06-2014 05:20 PM

Just put the afe Mach 2 high tuck on a 2014 but not liking it right now. Too loud and sounds like a rice burner. Probably going to take it off. Wanted a little louder than stock but no drone.

Looks cool but I'd have smashed those several times already.

I currently have an MBRP that sits in the same location as the stock. But I'm switching to the high tuck version since I'm going to be relocating my rear shocks and sway bar so the stock location won't work anymore.

Trembley 12-09-2014 09:52 AM

I bought the standard magnaflow round muffler...cut out my resonator and welded it in..cut the tail pipe off above the rear axle....

Hi clearance performance exhaust system $75...sounds great.

Here's a sound clip if you can hear it over the two giggling girls....that was with my trektop set up as a bikini top and ripping up the silverlake sand dunes this past summer.
