Default What gears for 295/70/17

I have a 2011 sport with 295/70/17 with 3.21 gears and a 6 speed. The jk spends most of it's time on the road with some mild offloading. I would like to put new gears in it with a limited slip diff. I am looking for gears that will work well on the highways returning good fuel economy. I am looking at 4.10 or 4.56 I think 4.88 will be to low for me. Last night I drove it I-80 around 70mph and could not use 6 th gear.Any suggestions?

as mentioned, 4.56 is the ratio you should be looking at

Go 4.88's. It is better to overgear by a bit. You may say you will never go up in size but you only want to regear once.

Being that your running a 33.3" tire (give or take) I think 4.56 would be a good gear ratio for your needs... I'm thinking of the same ratio for when I bump to 305-315's... I take the rig offroad but 98% of the time it's a DD...

Most people don't regear for a 33.5" tire. I would just be happy with using 5th gear. Or regear to 4.88 and get 35s.

I plan on going up to 35s with my 3.21 gears later on...
