I don't think so, what kind of elevation do you deal with? After driving around most of the last week in the Rockies with the OD off I think I will have to re-gear once I get out there, and I'm a stock two-door with 4.10s. The re-gear would be accompanied with more tire to though (probably 33's)

I have been pulling a 2600 lb pop up camper with 3.73's and a six speed. I know the automatic is way different, but I was able to maintain 65 mph up the hill between Black Canyon City and Sunset point on I -17.

Yes, I was at 4k plus rpm's, but it was 100 degrees out, no over heating, and my right foot was on fire from the transmission tunnel heat.

i have towde WELL over the JK's limit of 3500 lbs on several occasions. I have an 07 Unlimited with 6 speed and 4.10's. Towed my TJ and camping gear, very close to 5,000 lbs. with out any issues with exception to braking. JK's brtakes were not meant for that much weight. I think you should be fine with your setup, as long as you have over drive off. You will be in the right power band for your need. dont look at your RPM's in over drive, every manufaturer will tell you that overdrive shouldnt be used in any vehicle that is towing.

I am towing only 4 times a year, but in Arizona all good camping is north which means uphill. I might just try it with the 3:73's and overdrive off for a while and see how I do. If anyone has some extra cash to throw my way or free gears, I would be your friend.
