Default What kind of lift?

So I have a 2door Rubi. I'd like it lifted to give a little more clearance than stock and I think it would look more "proper" for a Jeep. However I don't have a lot of money or time to change out various parts to accommodate a suspension lift. I'd also like to keep the mileage I've been getting, 17-21 mpg which is not bad at all. Do I have any options or should I just stick with what I got? And if I have no options that's fine, just wondering. Thanks!

I would personally stay at 2.5" or less if you want to keep the factory sized tires on and maintain your current MPG. Any more lift and I think the factory tires start to look too small and out of proportion with the rest of the vehicle. That being said they are several budget boosts kits out there from 1.75" to 2.5". Remember that some budget boost kits are also leveling kits and will remove the factory rake (Daystar, Rough Country, etc. others can help me here) and some are not and will retain the factory stance (TeraFlex). The TeraFlex kit is a pretty complete kit as it comes with new rear swaybar links, brake line relocation brackets, bump stop extensions and rear track bar relocation bracket. I believe longer shocks are optional with most of these kits.

Default lift

a small lift might not effect ur gas mileage much. even a couple inches bigger tires won't effect it much. u already have like 32" tires under that Rubi. 2.5 in with 34" tires would look good. probably not hurt ur gass mileage much. u go much bigger and u might see a drop in gas mileage.

The Black Diamond 3 I have is very nice, it comes with many extras to correct steering, handling, etc.
I still got 18mpg with it until I put my 36s on it.
but I think it would still look good with 32s.

My 2 dr. Rubi is an '07. I have a 2.5" suspension lift and 33" MTZ's. I get compliments all the time.

Here's me (the black one) with a stock Rubi (red).

That's definitely the look I'm going for. Just slightly beefier than stock. I'll probably stick with the 32's till they wear out then we'll see. What do the budget boost lifts offer? What makes them budget besides the price?

some smaller BB dont even offer shocks...just the coil spacers. There is also no steering correction, though many would say it isnt necessary with such a small lift. it really boils down to what you feel comfortable with. I had a 2"BB on my Grand cherokee, and it had a bit of a sway to it.

Personally i would go with a 2.5 inch lift with stock tires and rims, that would be more of a "proper" jeep.

Have fun with your JK
