Default What lift kit is this?

Hey forum,

I am on the hunt for a Rubicon Unlimited and I found one that I really like but it is located a few states away so I will have to fly out and drive it back. It already has a lift installed on it but the current owner is not sure what type of lift kit it is as he purchased it already installed. He says it's a 6" lift, and he sent me some underneath photos which I have attached to this post. My question is, what type of lift is this and also does it appear that any other modifications underneath have been performed to accommodate this lift? Also, what should I i be concerned about with purchasing a Jeep with a 6" lift? Any help would be appreciated thanks!

that doesn't look like a 6" lift as it still has the stock driveshafts. and can't see any additional support to accomodate a longer arm....can you get better photos of the underside front and rear where the control arms are attached to on the axles and body?
Clayton Offroad uses square arms (the arms appear to be square), I don't know of any other vendors who use square arms.
maybe have the owner measure the length of a front and rear arm...

you'll forgive me but, there's no way this thing has a 6" lift. i would be cautious about buying this jeep if the owner can't be straight with you on what it really has.

Well, the only modification is the suspension and I figure if it is a junk suspension I'll just swap it out but if it is a nice one then I'm good to go. So if it's not 6" does it look more like a 4"? I'll see if he can send more photos right now, thanks for the help guys.

it looks like it has taller coils and basic hydro shocks. everything else that i can see looks stock. if this thing really has even 4" of lift, it most likely rides and handles like crap.

What size tires are on it. May help estimate the size of the lift based on the proportion to the tires.

I guess that's okay as I would prefer to do a full long arm kit eventually. The thing I was worried about is I know once you go 4" or higher you need to change out drive shafts and do other supporting mods. I was worried it was lifted super high with nothing else done and I'd run into other issues with it.
