Default What is the "lightest" wheel you can get?

I was wondering if someone know what the lightest type of wheel you can get is, I'm assuming it's an aluminum wheel is that right? I'm currently sporting 20x10" KMC Rockstars and these mugs are heaaavy (at least compared to other wheels I've handled). Considering ways to lighten up the ride, thanks...

20s inch rims are heavy and 20 inch tyres are heavy also.

Get smaller rims 15s or 16s

15s alloy procomps = 15 Pounds
16s alloy procomps = 26 Pounds
20s alloy procomps= 35 Pounds

35x12.5 15R Procomp XT= 59 Pounds
35x12.5 16R Procomp XT= 61 Pounds
35x12.5 20R Procomp XT= 79 Pounds

15s= 15 + 59 x 5 = 370 Pounds
16s= 26 + 61 x 5 = 435 Pounds
20s= 35 + 79 x 5 = 570 Pounds

15s= 200 Pounds lighter than 20s
16s= 135 Pounds lighter than 20s

Carbon fiber is lightest material used for rims.

There is a green jeep on here with super lite and strong volk TE37 race wheels. He used addapters to change the bolt pattern.
I had a set of 17x9 on my Evo, they weighed about 16 pounds.
You could also run the real (not copies) forged rims off a grand SRT8 if you want 20s.

I appreciate the advice but I absolutely love the 20" wheel and 35" tire combo/ratio so going with a smaller wheel is not an option for me.

Where can I find stock SRT wheels? I know they're selling some on Quadratec but are they the same in terms of quality and weight?

The SRT wheels they sell are copies, and are not forged (which gives you the low weight and high strength)

There are sets on ebay from time to time ore check your local bling bling rim shop. Someone may have traded in a set for som 22" chromies.

Real SRT rims are different width front and rear as well.

I know it's not the 8069 with BFG 315 75 16 on it. I bought those, followed by the road side assistance for the wife, cuz they're heavier than I thought aluminum would be.

That's really cool but aren't those Volk wheels something like $700 apiece?!

Yes about that. You have to pay if you want the lightest and strongest. On my race car every gram of weight saved costs a fortune and makes it faster.

$700 a piece?!

The whole point of me trying to get "lighter" is to have better fuel efficiency and save $$$.

Ay yay yay
