Default What to look for in a shop to install gears?

Welcome to Maryland. No real 4X4 shops around here. I know the average mechanic does not know how to install gears as well as someone who is sort-of an expert. That being said, What should I be looking for in a knowledgeable shop? What questions should I ask?

They are the best Jeep dealer in MD.....they will cover your warranty even if you have a lift. 90% of the Jeeps they sell are already lifted. Everyone in thier service dept is dedicated Jeepers...

Ask how many of these they've done before. You don't want to be the first. Especially if you have a Rubi with the locking diffs.

Adrenalin Off Road was the one I was considering. I only talked to them on the phone. I want to check them out. Never even thought of Adams Jeep. I'll call them tomorrow.

I'll give them a shout. And yes, that was for a gear swap but the guy kept insisting I needed carriers front and rear. Adrenalin off road in burtonsville and rockstate4x4 in northeast md. were both around $1200. I found them as dealers of Clayton Offroad stuff.

BTW, I don't mean to sound like a penny pincher just lookong for the cheapest guy. I have a small business myself(plumbing) and realize that lots of people price shop until they find the cheapest (and most of the time worst) place to do their work. I just know there are usually huge differences in know how and customer service from place to place. Thanks for all the input so far. I will keep you all posted.
