Default What rear bumper am I looking for?

I am looking for a rear bumber that is a full wrap around like the Mopar rear bumper that includes a spare tire carrier that will LOCK open and I can have some kind of provision for at least one jerry can and a hi lift jack. Id like a spot for rear lights but its not mandatory.

What am I looking for?

Nates 4x4 has no provision for the jack or can... heck its not even painted. Lod would be great but it does not come all the way around on the sides.

I've been looking at the Rock Hard 4x4 Rear bumper / tire carrier.

It looks like it meets all of your criteria, so check it out.

Bulldog Fab has a nice one that should do everything you need.

Here is a pic of the stubby with a spare tire carrier.

The LOD signature series rear w/ tire carrier is the one you should get. It DOES wrap around to meet the back fenders! The carrier locks open! The rear fogs look and function great. LOD will adjust the a-frame height if needed. This bumper also has provisions for a carry rack, jerry cans, jack, etc. I also bought the matching front stubby and they look great, like they belong on the JK. I have done some modifications to the bumpers, 3rd brake light etc. but I think you will be hard pressed to find better bumpers or customer service than LOD (no 4 month wait here)! Have a look at my 3rd brake light mod, heres the link.

Do a search for LOD bumpers, you will find a lot of great install how to's and a lot of pics to help make up your mind. If you have any specific questions send me a PM and I will try to help.

So where does the hi lift jack go? Can you run the jerry cans without the roof rack or does the jerry can mount tie into the roof rack somehow?

I personally don't have the jerry can mounts or the jack mounted at this time but yes the cans mount seperate from the rack. The jack mounts directly to the a-frame behind the tire. LOD's website has all the info you need and lots of pictures! Give Chris a call at LOD if you need questions answered.

Here are some pictures that Chris from LOD sent me a while ago. They look like production shots before powdercoating. It gives you a really good view of how stuff is mounted. I didn't like their 3rd brake light so I did my own and hid all the wiring internally in the carrier. I wanted the tire to sit lower (there is space between the tire and receiver hole) for better rear vision and Chris was able to do this for me, great customer service!!

For me, the LoD is in first place. A very close second is Garvin's Wilderness EXT. The Rock Hard would probably be my third choice.

LoD's leading because of the lights and it will perfectly match my signature shorty up front, which I've been extremely happy with. Their signature series just look great to me.

That Bulldog Fab bumper doesn't look very bad at all. The only downside to it looks to be the exclusion of a rack for it.

Beat me to it. This is definitely what'll be on my rig.
