Default What size lift for 35s

I'm new I jeeps and new to this forum.just bought a 2012 jeep wrangler four door (sport)
I would like to figure out the minimum size lift I would need to fit 35 inch tires.ill be putting them on 17x9 inch wheels.ive read where a 2.5inch lift would do it,but I wanted to see what you guys thought.any help is very much appriciated

2.5" will get you clearing 35's but, 3" is a better fit. being that you have a 2012, going over 2.5" will require you to address your front drive shaft and, if you want to avoid that, i would stick with 2.5" of lift and either trim your fenders, add a 1" body lift or taller bump stop extensions.

x2. 2.5 inch with1 inch body lift.... Unless you want to spend a bit more money

I just put the teraflex 2.5 inch lift on and added 325 70r17 terra grapplers. Only had minor rubbing at full turn. I cut the air dam with an exacto knife and no more rub.

i have a 2" lift with 35/12.5's and 2" spacers and its all good. i didnt need to trim anything but it was pretty close to the stock frt bumper.
