The coil spacers come in different size lift heights, so depending in the size you get, you may look into new shocks. My fronts (before the full lift kit) were 1.75" and hhe rear was .75", and i ran 33's with absolutely no rubbing, trimming or anything. 35's would require slightly more lift, or a 1" body lift.
you don't need coil spacers to run 33s, and in fact you could run 35s w/o coil spacers

Gearing and tire choices depend on the person and what their "needs" are. Some people say that 33s are terrible with 4.10 gears. I run 33s with 3.21 gears and a superchips and have NO complaints at all.

My JK with the 33s is faster than my gfs stock 2010 with the 32s and a intake/exhaust.

I really like the looks of 35's. I think 33x12.50R17's on a 4 door JK just do not look proportional. I would rather not change gears if I don't have to. Would a programmer help gain some performance back? What programmer do you recommend? Superchip? Am I going to run into added stress on the existing major components?

Thanks again!
Just buy a 6 speed manual and you would address 90% of the issues.

I am looking for one with an automatic transmission so my wife can drive it if she ever needs to.

One of my main requirements is that it must have atleast 373 gears in it. (I would prefer 410's) I have found a few but I am wanting to put a mild lift on it with either 33's or 35x12.50's which leads me to my question.

I was wondering, if a Jeep 4 door JK with an auto trans that has 373 or 410 gears could handle 33's or preferably 35's without a bunch of added stress to major components? What do you have and/or recommend?

Anyone with any experience in this category would be greatly appreciated! The more input the better. I want to save myself from making a wrong decision.

Thanks,

It ran 35's on my jk with 3.21's for a year and a half. Granted I have a six speed manual trans. It was a dog but it was bareable.

Yeah, you probably don't HAVE to, but I figured an inch bigger tire, an inch or so higher lift, just to keep the look, and be positive that nothing would touch. I personally don't like the "stuffed" fender well look. I'm not one who's interested in how to run 37's with a 2.5" lift...LOL. I dunno, if it works without any lift, then I guess it all comes down to personal preference. And mine being a Rubicon, I am usually disconnected up front anyway, so just wanted to give 'em room. Actually, the thought hit me while I was typing this, the MAIN reason I wanted some more lift, is that I'm in a 4 door, which by the way, is longer and wider than a grand cherokee (I measured them), and I wanted a little better clearance underneath to prevent high centering on stuff that a 2 door wouldn't even come close to.

I would love a manual but if the wifey ever needs to drive the jeep because her car is down then she wouldn't be able to. So, unfortunately, a manual is not an option.

I am going to take a look at a buddies setup for his 05 dodge 2500. He is running a Mickey T 17x9 wheel with Nitto Trail Grappler M/T 295/70 R17. They are off the truck so if I get the jeep deal done this weekend I will swing by there and roll them out next to it. I wish the 295/70 was a true 12.50 but oh well.

The jeep I am interested in has stock 410's in it even though it is an Unlimited X. I think if I still with stock gears I probably do need to lean more towards the smaller side.
