What tire size for stick rims?

Hey all,

Well I decided not to go with the Teraflex 3" lift. At least not now. It will eat too much of my budget and will require way more modifications that I just can't justify right now.

With that being said, I decided to go with the 2.5 " lift with Coils and Shocks from Teraflex. In addition to that, I will also be getting their adjustable track bar and steering stabilizer kit. I plan on keeping my stock rims (17's) for now but I want to get as close to a 35 as possible. I plan on getting the Spidertrax 1.5" spacers but I am at a loss as to what tire size and brand. No rock crawling for me, just sand and mud. Any advice would be appreciated. This won't be happening for a least 6 months so there is no hurry, but I like having all my ducks in row and preparing ahead of time.

Thoughts?

I was thinking 315/70/17's but I'm not sure...

What about 305's or 295's?

I have 285/7517 toyo mt and love the look. I have the teraflex 2.5 coil lift and added a 1" spacer all around because of winch and bumper with 1.5 Spidertrax wheel spacers

Just last Saturday i got new rims. I now have 75,000 miles on the tires

I would say 315/70/17's you could do the 305's but I feel that you would always want to move up if you did.

My thoughts exactly! however my brother works for an shop where he installs lifts and he said that a 315 on a 17 has a lot of sidewall and will have a lot of bounce. He recommended a 295.

285/75s on stock rims with .75-1.0 inch wheel spacers.

I have 285/75's on my stock 17's. I like the way it looks, but they're a little too skinny and lack that aggressive look. I'm going 305/70 next time so I can get a wider look. I like this size because I still get the 34" height I have now, but with a more aggressive stance.

Why not just go with a 35x12.50?

I have 285/70/17 on stock rims with 1.5" Spidertrax spacers and I also have the 2.5" teraflex lift. Not a bad look, but I agree that they're a little small with that lift. I'm getting a new set of wheels and tires shipped in 2 weeks, if you want to save a few bucks on Spidertrax spacers that are less than 6 months old, shoot me a message!

I was told that it's not a great idea because of the stock rim width...
