What will happen......
Just wondering what will happen besides going slower than a drunk guy crawling up a hill, if I keep my current AUTO with 3.73's, and move up to 35's Toyo's??? Its in my plans to go to 5.13s or even 5.38's. Just wondering if anything "bad" will happen if I dont get around to it for awhile.
I have already experienced what I think is the tranny "ding" warning. after a long trip on the highway with my 33's. I think that having my current tires is a stretch for the 3.73's and the Auto....I am concerned that its going to be brutal with 35's if I dont get to the gears fast.

Thats what happened w/ me. If you don't turn off OD your trans will shift back and forth alot and could heat up and cause damage. Other than that, 1st gear will be a bit more sluggish and your crawl speed will suffer. You'll want at least 5.13's when you can get around to it.
The bigger the tires you go with in an auto equipped Jeep with higher (numerically lower) gears, the more heat is generated in the trans. especially in stop and go driving, or wheeling for that matter. Heat kills transmissions. You should re-gear it sooner than later if you go with 35s. Also, an auxillary cooler may is probably a good idea.

You might run it by your local dealership also.
There was a post a while back from a guy that took his jk in for tranny work. Dealer saw the 35's, and specifically asked what gears he was running. He had re-geared, warranty work approved. If he was still on stock gears, dealer would have denied the claim, and he would have had to fight it.
(and then there was the other guy that had the dealer install gears in his jk. He drove cross country, gears seized, taking out the ds and tcase also - and the dealer would not warranty any of it. Soooo... get friendly with your dealer)
