Ok I"ve seen the Daystar replacement panel that allows you to add rocker switches.

My question is how much space is behind the OEM panel? Also how do you take it off? If it's just empty space it appears to be a great place to mount a CB, but I have a feeling there'll be something in the way of that.

Pics of panel removed would be greatly appreciated.

Yep all kinds of stuff back there. It's nothing to pull that panel off and see for yourself.

So will it just pop out? I thought I read somewhere that the top had to be removed and the sides and sounded like a major pain, just to find out it wasn't going to work.

Are there just tabs that hold it in?

that bottom panel is a cinch to pull out. Just go easy on it... It's two tabs and two clips if i remember right.

No room for a CB back there. maybe some smaller things, but definitely not a CB cubby. Plus, the gear shift is in the way!

Don't buy a panel for that, Just buy a few rocker switches at wal-mart, and drill a hole to mount it to your factory panel. Piece of cake and you save a lot of money. Or buy toggles, whatever your flavor.......

there is barely any room behind that at all. I know there was a thread about this previously & i think it had photos in it, I'll try to dig it up.

Edit: found the link to the thread, but the picture links are broken, so it's of no use.
