According to ProComp, the 17" #7105 is not 20Lb, it is 12kg = 26.66Lb .

If the MT28 are 29Lb, the difference is not 9Lb but merely 2.33Lb.

My rim + tire weigh 94.66Lb.
The 2.33Lb difference is just ~2.4% of the total wheel weight.

That link takes you to a different wheel. Here is a link where I found the weight.

I don't want to go back and forth but alloy has got to weigh less than steel hence one reason its more expesnive.
