Default Wheel locks for AEV Pintlers?

Which wheel locks will fit the pintlers? The ones I had before (McGuard, from the dealer) will not fit. Will gorilla locks fit?

Anything that works with the stock rims will work with the AEV wheels.

The Mopar locks I got from the dealer (they are manufactured by McGuard) will not fit. The head is too large for the wheel lock key to fit inside the lug opening of the wheel.

Put a call in to AVE Monday morning and see what they recommend. I'm sure they will choose a high quality lock to go with a high quality rim.

That is unusual since they actually have recommended the Mopar locks in the past.

Its worth noting that if one of those locks ever breaks (and they do) the only way to get them off is to drill them off, which risk damaging the wheels because of the tight tollerances. A friend of mine had two break, he was not happy, as he ended up with two wheels that only had 4 lugs that held the tire on afterwards.

I used the Mopar locks on my Pintlers. I did have to grind a little bit off the OD of the key to make it reach into the recesses enough to work. But I got to the point that I hated the idea of locks. It seems like we are always taking our wheels off for somthing and there we many times they were difficult to get off, even in the garage, and even when they had been torqued to 95 pounds. Twice I had to use an 1/2 impact gun and really lean into it hard to keep it engaged. I could not have got them off on the trail.

My solution was to take them all off and run standard lug nuts. My Pintlers are sufficienlty beat up that no sane crook would want them anyway.
