Default wheel lug question

2010 JK Mountain with factory wheels.
So, I'm sick of the factory lugs falling apart and having the chrome cover break and fall off the lug.
I now have over 6 of them that have the caps missing.

What is a good quality chrome lug that will not rust or break apart, want something solid without the little tin coverings.

I know I need 1/2 x 20 with 60 degree conical, just don't want to buy crap.

Any suggestions?

I just received my set of gorilla spline lugs, it comes with 23 lugs. I got mine in black chrome. Can't wait to put them on! I purchased them from quadratic for about $45.

^^X2 I've had mine now for about 3 weeks, love them, great quality, and each nut is security nut due to spline design....not like the McGuard which is only one locking nut per wheel.

Nice upgrade indeed!

I also use the gorilla lugs they are awesome never have had a problem with them also I wheel a decent amount still no problems also if you run an aftermarket wheel you may want to look into a locking nut where you need a special socket to remove it

The problem with any chrome lug is that they will rust, especially with salt on the roads. I have had several sets of Gorillas but after 1 winter they look like hell. That is why Chrysler has the stainless cap (not that this is a good solution). You can get billet aluminum lug nuts that won't rust and are very strong (despite what you might think). They can be a bit pricey though.

Thanks Guys,
I guess having rusty nuts is unavoidable..... lol!

The Gorilla ones seem to be decent though.

Gorilla will eventually rust ........ Mcgard won't ....... Just like the OEM lock on the spare tire.
Mcgard = money well spent
