Default Wheel Offsets

In the next week I'm going to be buying wheels, lift and tires for my new and first Jeep.

I know what type of lift I'm getting. And I've decided to go with BFG Mud Terrain 305x60r18. But the wheels I want seem to come with a 5.7 offset. I'm new to this type of stuff so I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how far in inches this will stick out from my stock fenders? Or if they even do... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They will mostly be under the fenders. you may have tread sticking an inch or so out. But with 5.7" back spacing and those ride tires, you may run into some rubbing.

Even with a 2 1/2 lift?

With 2.5 lift you should be looking at 4.5 backspaced rims or 4.75 maximum to avoid rubbing.

Its not your fenders hes talking about that will be rubbing. Your swaybar links can come in contact with your tires if you lift your jeep and have the incorrect backspacing.

What he said.

It's also not just the swaybar links, you could also rub against the frame and control arms while turning.

So I would need wheel spacers? I really appreciate the help. Still trying to learn more about all this.

Why buy new wheels and wheel spacers? Just buy the new wheels with the correct back spacing.
