Default Wheel question

I'm looking at putting some of the new moab edition wheels on my 2012 jku. Will I need to use a aev procal to adjust the gear shifts and speedometer or not?

Wheel size doesn't effect the speedo, tire size does. Are you putting on larger tires?

Just the wheels ? or wheels and tires ?

If just the wheels there will be no change in tire diameter so no need for calibration.

If wheels and tires, there will be a minimal amount of change in tire diameter unless you have the 16" steel wheels.

The new ones are 247/75/17 the old were 225/75/16 so it's wheels and tires.

you are going from a tire that actually measures under 29" to a tire that measures almost 32" so your speedo will be off you can easily fix it tho with the procal. I essentially did the same thing.

The Procal will recalibrate your speedometer. Automatics use an algorithm with throttle position; rpm; speed and load to trigger the shifts. If your speedometer is off, the computer is confused: it really doesn't know when to shift. If you have a manual, then you decide when to shift.

The Procal is a good investment. When you change tire size in the future you can recalibrate again. If you decide to lift, you can recenter your wheels to your steering wheel. If you winch you can temporarily raise your idle rpms. And more.

Yep. The only factor would be a larger tire size

Would you recommend changing the axle ratio or just the tire size settings?
