Default wheel size

I am thinking about switching to a 16 inch wheel so can get a better selection and Price on tires. I want o run a smallish 35 > Have any of you done this . is it worth it or should I just stay with the stock wheels and go to spacers. I would like to keep the weight down on the wheels and tires . MY stock tires on 08 rubicon are just about worn out. I have 1 good one 1 marginal and 3 that are ready to go. I am also going to install a small lift probably 3 inch or less. I want to go with OME springs and shocks but will probably end up with a terra flex bb kit to fit my tires. BUDGET IS EVERYTHING HERE, so what are the pro/cons of a 16 wheel or even a 15 inch wheel. vs spacers and the stock wheel. I do lot of on road and off road stuff Right now my tires sound like tank treads. so what are your thoughts?

If bubget is everything and you don't have plans to go to a 37 then 15 wheels and tires are the way to go. They are cheaper and you have a large selection. As far as wheels go you can get a Procomp xtreme alloy or check the vendor section, Discount Tire has some 15" wheels that will work also. If you do decide to go with a 37 on a 15 wheel the selction is very small....

Yup, I just ordered 15" alloy rims and 35" rubber from discount tires about an hour ago. I saved about $100 per tire compared to 17" , plus you'll save $200 for spacers that you won't need. You can then sell your stock wheels/tires on craigslist for $300 and then you're are money ahead!

I did the same thing at Discount Tire about 10 days ago. Check out the MB72 15" wheel at DT. It fits perfectly and is less tnan 100 bucks. I posted photos here, but they moved it to Show & Tell.
