Wheel spacers with AEV pintlers.
It saddens me to post this, since I think so highly of AEV's parts, but after a few months of abusing these wheels it appears they are just not the right backspacing, and I will need to add spacers.
AEV's specs claim these work perfectly with 35's. Offroad and disconnected, I continually am rubbing my frame, lower control arms, and sway bar in the front. My axle is perfectly centered, and this is happening on both driver and passenger sides equally.
I don't want to adjust my steering stops and lose turning radius. My tires fall right in their spec range at 35x12.50....
Is anyone else having this problem? Have you ran spacers with these wheels? Feelings?
Thanks...

Sure had the same problem and also had to buy wheel spacers. Once the spacers were on I never rubber at all or had any problems since. Plus I'm on a 6in lift so the added wheelbase helped me also. I know there are mixed feelings on spacers but many run them successfully without problems. Just check the toque specs when you rotate tires and you'll be fine. It was my only option to run the AEV wheels and I loved them. I am surprised though AEV dose not offer other backspacing for people in our situations.
what lift are you running?
I have seen a handful of people with these wheels without issue, however they were on AEV 3.5" kits. local Jeep dealer builds them.
There is another guy with their beadlocks here. He has the ST spacers on his AEV beadlocks with 37 12.50's. his were also rubbing.
so not sure what lifts work with those wheels or not, but maybe others can list up what lift is working with their tire/ aev wheel combo.
The ST spacers are good, but IMHO, if you are buying wheels, they should have the proper offset and not need spacers.

Agreed with the proper offset
which is why I bought these. They were supposed to be the proper offset for a 35"x12.50"....
And I have the FT 3" premium +....
I like the wheels to much to get something new, for now.

I have the TF 2.5 coil lift on my 2d and just put on 315 70 r17 duratracs and black AEV pintlers. I do have spacers on at the moment but that's just because I didn't feel like taking them off. When I do I'll post back how it worked. The tires aren't quite 35s though. I think they measure 34.5

The reason I ask is because the AEV Pintlers come in 2 different offsets. A +10 for JKs and a +25 for WKs; both are 5 on 5 so would bolt up but the back spacing is 3/4" different.
I would pull my wheels and measure the back spacing to be sure I had the right wheels for my application.

I may post some pics to show. I'm surprised some rub and some don't. Could it be steering stops?
