Default Wheel Spacers?? Does it matter who makes them?

Ive decided on 285/70R17, so that being said, are the ones from RC any worse then Spidertrax? If the material is the same grade and they have the hub flange that supports the wheel, can I go wrong?

I can buy new RC or used SpiderTrax off a fellow Jeeper, which I have no problem buying used, for around the same price:thumb:

Thoughts??

IMO most USA made high quality wheel spacers are close to being the same today. Spidertrax has grown into such a reputable company that it's a natural first choice of any Jeeper (like me!). As for buying used vs. new, with a critical part like this, always buy new. Who knows if they were previously beat on, heated, over torqued, or even exposed to corrosive chemicals. You'd never know until it was too late. Not worth the risk.

I bought the Rugged Ridge spacers because they were a few bucks cheaper. Except for the color, they are identical to SpiderTrax. Just be sure you get a name brand and that they are milled from a solid piece of aluminum.

I wouldn't run anything but Spidertrax. Don't skimp on spacers, you will regret down the road.

Working at discount tire ive seen many types of spacers. Most are real garbage and ive had to remove many due to owner operation and install. Always buy new if your using it for your daily driver. Spidertraxs are the best due to its popularity and time out on the market. Ive never had a problem when working with them.

IMO, I think the biggest need is for the spacers to be hubcentric. It just seems like common sense to me.

I just purchased a set of the rough country. They are made from the same material as the spidertrax and are hub centric. We will see how they work when I get home in a couple days. I was going to go with ST but the price got me on the RC.
