Wheel and tire combination
HEY all. I'm looking for some advise, what I've got is a 2011 jku. with 17" alloy wheels. And
255/75-17 goodyear gsa. It's my daily driver. so maintaining my fuel economy is important. What I'm looking for Is mostly just a wider tire. for better traction. the dia. is just fine for now.but the tread pattern I'm pretty sure wont last to long offroad. SO with all that being said. What tire would you. suggest ? . Also I have decided to swap out my wheels for the level 8 trackers. but I am not sure if I should go with the 8.5 or the 9.0 wide. Most of my concerns with the wheels are with the wheel offset causeing the tire to rub on the fenders when offroading. or having the tire stick out from under the fender. any coments and suggestions would be helpful.

What are your plans for your Jeep? Are you going to lift it or level it? Other than daily driving your jeep how else do you use it? Will it see any 4x4 trails, do you take it out in the snow?
There's a lot of options out there, you can run a slightly larger tire and an aftermarket wheel in the stock 17" size. You can also downsize to a 15 or 16" wheel and tire to save some weight and some $$. The Level 8 tracker is a great looking wheel. They are available in a range of sizes. In 16" they are 16x8.5 with a 4.5" Backspace and in 17" they are available in 17x8.5 with a 4.5" backspace. Both of these sizes are ideal for a JK.

All very important facts that i keep forgetting to mention lol. No lift planned for a couple of years anyway although i am going to level it. Front only. As far as trails that will only happen 2 or 3 times a year and nothing to difficult mostly fire roads. And other easy stuff like that although the terrain i will be on is mostly sandy not sand dunes though.
. As for snow I live in michigan so snow will definitely happen.

Thank you for the additional information.
I would consider the 16x8.5 Tracker with 285/75-16 DuraTrac tires. This combination will sit a little further out in comparison to your factory set-up but will not rub on or off-road. This tire size is about 3/4" taller than the factory tires. The DuraTrac is an excellent model for your needs. This model rides very well on-road and performs great off-road. The DuraTrac also carries the mountain snowflake symbol for sever snow conditions so it will suite your needs during the winter months.
