Default Wheel width size???

I have a 2017 JKU Sport and I'm going to upgrade my tires and wheels. For the tires I want to get size LT255/75R17 but I'm having trouble figuring out wheel size.

I know these need 17" wheels but they come in a variety of width sizes, 17x7.5", 17x8" and 17x9". The ones I'm looking at will have somewhere between 4.5" to 4.75" backspacing.

Any suggestions on the width of wheel I should purchase?

Here are the specs to a particular wheel we're considering. Note the Width, Offset & Backspacing as these specs have been approved for the 2007-2018 JK/JKU models and should offer you the range you're looking for.

Application: 2007+ JK Wrangler
Size: 17" x 8.5"
Bolt Pattern: 5x5
Offset: +4mm
Approximate Backspacing: 4.59"

However, depending on the tire, view their specs as they should post an allowable range of wheel widths that should mate up with your wheel. For instance, one site has a width range of 6.5 - 8.5 But they also list an "ideal" range width of 7 etc. Follow?

Wow, thank you! That was buried in the tire's specs but I found it, 6.5-8.5" for wheel width.

That's the last bit of info I needed before I can get these order, thanks again!

Yw, Just to clarify, the tire specs I listed were from coopertire, so I'm assuming you actually located specs from your tire manufactures page, and not just use the specs I posted as these could be differant. I was merely using Coopertire's specs as a for instance.
