Default Wheels: 15x8 -19mm offset, 3.75" backspace

So.. From what I've read on the forums those seem to be what to get. To confirm I order a procomp wheel with those specs and test-fit it today on my '09 Wrangler X. It turned freely but there was the tiniest amount of rub from one spot. I filed it down with about three swipes of the file and it's no longer an issue.

My question is about how this wheel is going to compare to the stock wheel when it comes to backspacing. I do not want to use spacers and I plan on getting some BFG 33x12.50's. Will these rub? I know many are using something very similar to this but I can't seem to find a good picture.

Does anyone have a picture of this setup from the back and/or front, showing how it looks?

Thanks!

Check this link if you haven't done so already - before basing a decision on the looks of someone else's rig

Yes.. I've read that one..

And this part, expecially:

Q: What back spacing will I need on my wheels in order to clear 12.50 wide tires?
A: I would recommend that you do not exceed 4.75" of back spacing and even at that, you may still have some minor rubbing up front at a full turn. Also, I would recommend that you do not go any less than 3.75" as anything less would cause your tires to stick out very far past the fender flares. Any back spacing within this range should work out great.

So.. The wheels I'm looking at with 3.75" should work.. I'm just wondering how they look, I suppose

I think they'll look good. You'll also not have to worry about the Jeep becoming a bit unstable as you lift it, due to becoming more top heavy. Because you have wheels with less backspacing, you are essentially widening your foorprint, making the Jeep more stable. I think your wheel choice is a good one and you will not regret it.

they'll look and work great. plus, the wider you are, the more stable you will be. the only issue you might have is with your local law enforcement if your state has fender laws.

Well, I'm in Texas so I don't think I have anything to worry about from the fender police

I wonder, tho. How far out are 33x12.50's going to stick out past the fenders? As long as it's not more than about an inch I guess it'll be what I'm looking for.

Oh, what the heck.. I'll drive down to Discount Tire and see if they have a BFG A/T in that size and get it all mounted up and see for myself, I suppose.

Not going back to the 4wheel parts place. Elitist jerks over there.
