The bolt circle and width will work, but i think you just need to see if MB's site has backspace listed. Most of your questions can be answered in the FAQ sticky.

As far as tires, that's up to you. I think all name brand tires do the job. You just have to think about noise, and driving terrain.

The wheel is 16X8.5 5-127 -6MM

The bolt pattern is correct 5x5 or 5x127mm. The -6mm refers to offset which is a different way of looking at backspacing. At 0mm offset this wheel would have 4.25" backspacing and would work. At -6mm offset it has about 4" of backspacing . If you look at the FAQ in the Modified Section you will see a good writeup on what will fit. In this case, the 4" of bs is within the range and will fit.

Why go with such a small tire. You will get about 500 miles on them before you want to go bigger. That is around the stock Rubi tire.(31.6 x 10.4 x 16) I would stuff at least a 33 x 12.5 in there, especially with that backspacing.

You will thank me later!

I know a guy with 265/75r16's on stock 16's so i'm sure you would be fine. He's running the Cooper ST's and i think the price is hard to beat.

I am totally with Rubimon here. I picked up the 33x12.5 Cooper STTs from Discount Tire Direct this week. 10% of plus the JK Forum $50 discount on an already great price. Picked up the wheels there as well with the same discount. They mounted and balanced them for free and put the TPMS sensors for $37 each. Also free delivery.

I will probably regret it and want 35s but ...

ACTUALLY I MESSED UP THE CALCULATION!!!!!!!

At 8.5 and -6mm offset. It is 4.5" of backspacing on that wheel. It is 8.5/2 = 4.25. Then we add the offset -6mm = -.25inches. So we get 4.25 + -.25=4.0 but we have to add back 0.25inches just because of the mounting surface. So I get 4.25" bs.

From a tire site:

4. Offset. The distance from the centerline of the wheel to the face of the mounting surface of the wheel that contacts the hub.

4.1 Zero Offset. Indicates the mounting surface is at the wheel center.

4.2. Negative Offset. Indicates the mounting surface is behind (or inboard) the centerline of the rim. This is often found on standard rear-wheel-drive vehicles and on so-called reversed rims. (Diagram below shows negative offset)

4.3 Positive Offset. Indicates the mounting surface is in front of (or outboard) the centerline of the rim. This is often found on front-wheel-drive vehicles. Stock Tacoma wheels have Positive offset.

5. Backspacing. The distance from the mounting surface to the inside lip of the wheel. This measurement is closely related to offset (without actually measuring, backspacing is about equal to [Wheel Width / 2] + [Offset] + [about 1/4] ).
