Default Wheels Spacers Vs. Soft 8s???

What should I go with. Im getting 35s in a week or so. Only have enough to afford the tires and some wheel spacers to go on my stock wheels. Or, some soft 8 steelies with proper backspacing for 36 dollars more than spacers.

I'm running spacers with no problems but if i could do it over again and liked the soft 8's then as much as i do now, i would go that route.

^^x2 there's nothing wrong with my spacers but I think I'd buy wheels. My big hold up was that the wife didn't like them.

I went spacers because I love the design and I feel like soft 8s make it look dated. I believe they are also heavier in a 17".

Either one would work well, but have you considered the MB72's ? You can save some money and then sell your stockers as a complete set of tires/wheels. Especially if you go with 15s.

I had Spidertrax on my '07 and was pleased with their quality

X2 on MB72s in 15s. 35" rubber are about $100~$175 cheaper than the same size in a 17 or 18 rim. After the second set of rubber, that's how much you will save per wheel. Gives the Jeep the classic timeless look. Fads come and go.

Another opinion...take it for what it's worth...

I prefer an alloy wheel over a steel wheel. Steel wheels will eventually rust.

The soft 8 is an OK look but "everyone" seems to run them. I don't want my rig to look like "everyone" elses.

The factory Moabs look great as-is or paint them black if that is the look you want.

SpiderTrax spacers should really be looked at as adapters. These are not your cheap, dangerous auto part store spacer. They also hold their value really well should you decide to change up in the future. I see them selling used everyday for slightly less than new prices.

Decisions, decisions....

Ya I mean. It's not sooo much the look I'm worried about. I know wheel spacers like spidertrax are really well and hold up just fine.

I don't mind the look of the soft 8s. I don't want anything too flashy, and I figured soft 8s and wheel spacers are about the same price. I'm more interested in quality/bang for my buck. Plus, 35s for 16" soft 8s is a lot cheaper than 35s for 17s.

To be honest, I kinda like the look of moabs. Might get the spacers and paint the wheels gun metal grey. I have them painted black now.

You need both. With my 35's on Cragar soft 8 steelies, I found it necessary to put the spidertrax spacers on. Otherwise the inner tire rubbed up against the lower control arms, and my turning radius was greatly diminished.

What back spacing do your wheels have?
