Default When to flash Jeep for regear...

I'm about to get 5.13s installed and just picked up a Superchips Flashpac. Since I'm going to use it to recalibrate the auto trans for the new gears/tires, etc, when 'should' I flash it, before the gears so the auto trans is already setup for the new gear ratio or let the gears break in on the stock 4.10 setting before I reflash it?

Does it make a difference? I don't think it matters either way, but if there is a reason why I shouldn't flash until the new gears are broken in, I'd like to know instead of blowing them up.

You can flash it before the re gear if you want(why not?). Just once you get the new gears change the gear setting.

I don't think it makes a difference about the break in. I would flash the new gears when they are installed.

I flashed mine when I dropped it off. That why it was right for any test rides the installer did.

I don't think that the flashpaq actually adjusts any shift points. It will recalibrate the speedometer but I think that's it. I haven't noticed any difference in shift points. I tried altering the tire size to see if it would adjust shift points but they remained the same.

The Flashpaq definitely adjusts shift points and firmness.

based on tire size? by all means, I'd love it if that's true. that's one of the reasons I bought it. I know the tunes change the firmness of the shift, I can feel that, but I'd like to know for sure if it changes the shift points. Does it make that claim on their website?

flash as soon as you can, if you flash before the swap, i would do it the morning of the drop off or whenever u take it in. u might have problems driving there but just watch yourself and give plenty of distance ahead of you. i did mine when i got home from the gear swap, it was not a fun 30 miles. the tranny wouldnt shift correctly and the esp kept kicking in for some reason. but i did have 37s, lift, and 5.13 gears installed at the same time. for the auto tranny, u will notice a difference immediately after the gear install without the flash
