If it is a sport with 16" tires, get better tires.

It all comes down to what you want. Do you want to wheel it? Do you want it to look tough? Are you looking to improve performance right away?

If you're looking to hit the trails right away, get some minimal armor and recovery gear and do it. Take it easy until you get the hang of it and get to know your's and your JK's limitations; preferably not alone. This should give you a good idea of what to get next.

If you want it to look tough, start looking at what others have going. There are a ton of photos on the web and this forum of your year/color with countless lift, wheel/tire, bumper, rock rail, etcetera, etcetera options.

For me, transforming it from a stock stance to a beefier stance was a necessity. I researched inexpensive lifts and after picking the brains of forum members, settled on a quality yet affordable lift(Teraflex 2.5" coil lift with Bilstien 5100 shocks) along with a good looking wheel wrapped in 35's. This tided me over for a year and a half, while I researched my wish list. Along the way, the forum members were instrumental in helping me decide what I wanted, what worked the best and was the best bang for my buck. There are great folks on this forum who know their crap and aren't afraid to share their knowledge with us JK noobs. Just remember if you don't know and can't find the answer to your question, it's not a dumb question. Ask it and someone will answer it or help you find the answer.

Good luck and get a line of credit. This Jeep thing is addicting!!!!
