Default Whining noise when I let off the gas.

Whining noise when I let off the gas. What could it be? I have a 4 door. Just added lift and gears. Could it be the drive shafts?

My bet is the gears. I have no idea whether that will go away with break in or not. Hopefully someone who knows gears will chime in.

Default gears

whining on deceleration is most likely the gears. Unfortunetly for all of us JK owners there is only one manufactuer making and selling gears right now. That would be Superior Gears. Their JK gears are known for a hit or miss install issues. You may or may not have noise and no the noise will not go away. You need to go back to your installer and get another set of gears installed at their cost. Good luck with this because Superior Gear customer service is to just send you another set of gears and have you install them at your expense with the hope that they won't be noisy. Personally I think the quality of the Superior JK gears suck. I know of many installers that can't wait until someone like Alloy USA releases their JK gears and as soon as they can they will drop the Superior JK gears like a hot rock.

Last I heard there is a 8 week backorder on Superior Gears and Alloy gears won't be out for a month or two. Good luck....

I have Yukon 5.13's. Will the whining cause any damage? Not really that loud but need to get fixed if they are causing damage.

Good to know I will keep an eye on it. I am just hoping my installer installed the correct gears he said he used Yukon Gears. It took like 2 weeks to get them in.
