Default Whip antanae/safety flag question

Hey all, quick question re whip antanea's/safety flags.

I have a fairly stock 2 door JK and am trying to work out the best location to mount one of the above. Most seem to have mounting bases that bolt to aftermarket steel bumpers. No good for me at the moment I need something that I can easily take down when I'm on my daily drive and throw up again when I'm out having fun in the sand dunes!

Any advice and pics would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

Spare tyre mount is what I'm leaning towards. Don't think I can mount one on the front bumper as it's all plastic. Just wondering if there are any mounting kits or anything like that...

Thanks for the reply

That look pretty good, cheers. Just been searching other threads and realised that the flag is better mounted on the front (still not 100% sure how best to do this though!). Reason being, when you're heading up a steep dune, you want anyone on the other side to see the flag early. If the flag's mounted at the rear, it either has to be massively tall or it's not going to be seen, unless you reverse up

How bout the Teraflex Cb antenna mount. I believe it has 2 holes in it and mounts to the existing spare tire carrier.

I have one of these antenna mounts from CoolTech. Works great for a CB antenna. I'm sure it would work well for a flag pole as well

I made my own with a piece of stock from my local hardware store--very easy to do ...

By the way, just a small nit to OP: Bugs, insects and such have antennae. Radios have an antenna or antennas. I'd suffer that perhaps you're speaking the King's English, but over there they often call them aerials and avoid the entire issue all together. :-)

If you look at your third brake light mount, there's a flange on either side at the base. I drilled a hole in it and used the whip from my quad. It worked great and the hole is non-visible.

This is where I have mine. Just drilled a hole in it and everything fits perfect. But as Dirtman has also mentioned, some places require front mounts. I would check the rules at your favorite spots first.

Thanks guys. The rear mount would be easiest but I think I'll have to go with the front. There aren't any rules or admission checks where I go, but there are lots of dunes and hills. Defo need a front mounted flag I think.
I'm wondering if I can get a bracket fabricated that will allow me to mount a flag off the windscreen brackets? Anyone done this?
