Default Whistle

Put a CAI on a while back and now I am getting the whistle from under the hood...Am I correct that it is from the additional air flow passing through the throttle body? Is there any way to correct this or at least lesson the serverity of the sound? Any help would be appreciated.

After I installed my Airaid and TBS the whistle was pretty noticeable, altho it didn't bother me. After awhile tho for some reason the whistle seemed to pretty much go away, and now I can barely hear it, if any at all.

On my 99 TJ I installed a larger K&N intake system.. I had a nice whistle to it while accelerating. I kind of like it, it wasn't too much of a whistle though. When I put a high flow exhaust I noticed the whistle was cut in half.

I have an Airaid and TBS. When I first drove mine after installing I turned around to make sure I hadn't left it too loose or something. Then I read on the TBS that "the whistle tells you that its working". took me a while to get used to it, but I don't really hear it anymore. I think it sounds so loud b/c of the location of the intake.

I have just the Airaid CAI and no TBS, but the whistle is there. It is annoynig at times, other times I don't hear it at all. Like the other noises in my head.

is anybody going to answer his question or just keep talking about there own whistle. personally I like the sound.

the whistle was always there. its just that the stock box and filter are designed to muffle it completely. so good luck with fixing it.

the only thing I can think of is the VOLANT system. the CAI filter is in a box. not 100% sure I've only seen pics.

The way it was explained to me went roughly as follows: the whistle is caused by the pressure increase of additional air.

I don't have a real answer. When I turn off my jeep equipped with a CAI, I can hear air coming out of the intake as it pressures down.

In conclusion I think you are correct.

Just got home to look at the thread.........it seems like I'm going to have to live with it according to the responses...maybe I can pretend it's a "supercharger" spooling up

All kidding aside most of the time it's not bad, but sometimes depending on the weather it seems a lot louder. I was just hoping there was something that might alleviate some of the noise.
