Default Whistling cold air intake normal?

My banks cai is whistling pretty bad. I kinda think it sounds good but is that normal for air being sucked in or a loose connection? I have read both.... What ya think?

I have a AEM CAI and no whistle at any RPM - just a nice low growl.

I have an AEM as well = paired with a MRBP off-raod exhaust. That growls pretty good. There is a bit of intake noise under load which wasn't really very noticeable at all until I took the top-off. I'm aware of it then (i.e. no top) but nothing too serious (i.e. when I said - can you hear that, my wife didn't know what I was talking about).

That said, I what you're hearing may be "normal" (although it's hard to tell without hearing it) They're not exactly complex mods so I guess you could figure out if there is any problem by going round the handful of fasteners needed to attach them and making sure everything is tight and snug.

If you do a search you'll find it's very common.

I have the AEM brute force as well and at a certain RPM it whistles as well. Ive watched it with the hood open and noticed it whistled when it is really sucking in ~2K rpm orso. It only does it at a specific RPM and really no other time.

Yup, Airaid and MBRP exhaust on mine...whistles under acceleration. The intake also adds a low growl . Some people like the whistle and for others it drives them crazy, doesnt bother me. Throw on an exhaust and it becomes less noticeable.

Love the sound of the intake and exhaust together...No one will think my Jeep has a mini van engine under the hood.

Yes, it only whistles at acceleration. Other that it does not. I assuming it is normal after reading around. It sounds cool kinda like a turbo sound

My K&N FIPK whistles too. I just run it up, then make a loud "Pschkkkhhhhh" sound from my mouth.....Poor man's blow-off valve.

Seriously though, as long as your connections are tight, the whistle is normal.
