Default Who makes the best gears?

I am regearing to 5.13's. I finally decided that. Now I am wondering who makes the best product. From what I can tell they are all 8620 and are basically the same. I have heard Yukon is best, then turn around and hear that Yukon is junk and superior is best.

What brand of gears do I want?

I have heard that you can't go wrong with Yukon or Superior. Personally I bought Yukon, because at the time their price was a few dollars less. My installer told me that all the gears are really the same and tried to talk me into USA gears, but others on the forum have typically recommended Yukon or Superior more than others.

Just my 2 cents.

Wow, you have opened a can of worms now!

I run the new G2 because they are life time warranty and are now a very good product. the old genuine gear was not heat treated and I would say lower quality then the rest. but they were bought out a year ago and moved to a different factory and have been completely redesigned.

I also know the Yukon and superior are good products as well and the MOST important part of gears is the INSTALLER!!!!!!!!!!! If you get a bad install it does not matter how good the gears are they will fail!

I heard somewhere that most of the major manufacturers all make their gears from the same factory. Northridge had some from there without the brand name for cheap but the same quality. I would drop Dave a line.

X2, most all are made in India and re-boxed.

They are all made in India and re-labeled. Yukon, Superior, G2, yada yada yada are all made by the same maker not in USA.

If you can get a lifetime warranty or lower installations cost on any brand, that is certainly the way to go.

One shop I talked to would only certify their work on Yukon gears even though they didn't sell them. That is not the shop I selected.
